Daniela Martins (b. 1989, Portugal) is a Portuguese abstract artist whose practice explores emotion, movement & human connection.
With an academic background in Communication and Marketing, as well as Healthcare Management, Daniela also works as a marketing consultant. Her creative language, however, began to take shape much earlier. As a teenager, she trained in dance at the Lisbon School of Dance, an experience that deeply influenced her relationship with the body, movement and expression.
Spontaneity, energy and movement are at the core of both her personality and her artistic process. Rather than approaching the canvas with a predetermined outcome, Daniela paints intuitively, allowing gestures, colors and forms to emerge in response to emotions, memories and the spaces she inhabits.
Although communication has shaped much of her professional life, Daniela has never felt that words are her most natural form of expression. She communicates through presence, energy and the way she makes others feel. Painting became an extension of that language — a way of giving physical form to emotions that cannot always be named.
Her work exists somewhere between the visible and the intangible, exploring what we feel but struggle to articulate. Through vibrant color, instinctive gestures and expressive compositions, she seeks not to explain emotion, but to make it felt.
Her works are held in private collections across Portugal, Germany, Spain, France.
